L'idea di un universo alternativo in cui i libri sono il bene più prezioso e i confini fra realtà e letteratura sono così sottili è interessante e resa anche piuttosto bene (anche se c'è troppa carne al fuoco: OPS, viaggi nel tempo, storia alternativa, vampiri...), ma questo viene quasi vanificato dalla trama poco consistente e delle numerose assurdità.
